WA Government hopes new scare campaign will warn kids of the dangers of vaping

The WA Government has developed new resources to shock students away from vaping. These include posters highlighting the toxic cocktail of chemicals in a single vape.

While this is a step in the right direction, we need more than education alone, says ACOSH Chief Executive, Maurice Swanson.

“It is essential that this educational campaign is underpinned by a significant increase in the level of enforcement by state and commonwealth governments to stop the sale/supply of these illegal products to children and young people.” he said.

Tobacco Endgame: Nobody Left Behind Conference on World No Tobacco Day 2022

A recent conference in Ireland held on World No Tobacco Day discussed tobacco endgame. Above is the conference’s opening address, which was followed by the release of a survey.

“In general, our survey findings demonstrated strong public support for a wide range of tobacco endgame measures and we found that 75% were in support of the Tobacco Free Ireland goal to reduce smoking prevalence to less than 5% by 2025.”
