Indonesia’s tobacco giant PT Djarum has exploited efforts to reduce smoking rates by promoting its L.A. Lights cigarettes on billboards with the shameful slogan “DON’T QUIT – L.A. Lights Let’s Do It”. In Indonesia two-thirds of men use tobacco and 20% of children aged 13-15 smoke. The tobacco industry has unrestricted freedom to irresponsibly marketing their product to whoever they want. No wonder Indonesia has been called the tobacco Industry’s playground. This is just one example of the dirty tactics the tobacco industry is using to replace the consumers who are dying prematurely from using this deadly product.
