Goals and Objectives
The program aims to deliver Tackling Smoking services, tailored to the needs of the regions communities, and ensure the effective delivery of a population health approach to tackle chronic disease risk factors.
This will include one-on-one or group Healthy Lifestyle activities tailoring healthy eating alternatives and physical activity, to support smoking prevention and quitting messages.
Strategies
- Increasing awareness through community workshops, educational sessions, community events and promotional resources on the harms associated with tobacco smoking, and the benefits of being smoke-free.
- Providing and supporting a referral pathway to quit smoking support services
- Promoting and supporting smoke-free community events
- Developing local and culturally appropriate social marketing and social media messages to promote behaviour change.
