Tobacco Company claims tobacco products are "only leaf and water"

In a recent media release British American Tobacco Australia (BATA) is quoted as saying “It appears the government has now moved on from plain packaging to investing millions of dollars studying the ingredients in cigarettes when essential the vast majority in Australia are made of tobacco leaf and water” (BATA media release Friday 31 May 2013).

This statement was made in response to an Australian Government review on the regulation of tobacco contents and additives. Maybe the industry should spend more time reading their own documents which tell us that manufacturers precisely engineer tobacco products adding ammonia and many other dangerous chemicals to make them more addictive and palatable to mask the harm.
