WA Health Promotion Strategic Framework 2017 - 2020

The new WA Health Promotion Strategic Framework (HPSF), 2017 – 2020, from the Department of Health has been released.

The goal of the HPSF is to lower the incidence of avoidable chronic disease and injury in WA by facilitating improvements in health behaviours and environments.

The HPSF focuses on the main lifestyle risk factors which contribute most to burden of disease in our State, including:

  • overweight and obesity
  • nutrition
  • physical activity
  • tobacco use and
  • harmful levels of drinking.

A section on injury prevention is also included.

The section on tobacco control and the Make Smoking History campaign is featured on page 39 – 44.

Visit the Department of Health (WA) website for further information or download the framework directly here.
